Having written and produced music for top ad agencies and brands across the U.S., Dave’s talent in the music world spans more than three decades. Dave co-founded Kung Fu Bakery Recording, a multi-grammy winning recording studio in Portland, Oregon, and was one of the first inductees into the Oregon Music Hall Of Fame. Then, Dave met Kara, a poet, short story and screenwriter. They fell in love. With the help of Dave's dad (also a musician), they encouraged Kara to sing and write with them. In 2018 Dave & Kara released their debut album, The Sun Is Out. The Dreamers—Dave and Kara’s second album, pulses with classic storylines and uncharted narratives. Alternating between layered soundscapes and stark intimacy, it achieves what you want most from a favorite album: the urge to play it again. Little Wren

Portland, 7am. Drinking tea with Dave. A little wren flies to our window, flits from left to right, hovers, staring at us. Flits across the window again, stares at us. Back and forth the little wren carries on. Suddenly it flies away. "I had a dream last night about a bird that looks just like that," Dave whispers. Later that afternoon, I look up from bookkeeping. The little wren suddenly appears and repeats the same, fervent back and forth across our window. That night Dave tells me about his dream. After dinner he picks up his guitar and starts playing Little Wren. The song is flying through his fingers, from my lips. And just like that, it is gone. -Kara
